Among our 230 participants, <strong>51%<\/strong> identified as dog people, <strong>40%<\/strong> as cat people, and 9% said they were neither. Using this data, we identified <strong>significant differences in personality across <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clevry.com\/en\/platform\/scale-library\/\">9 CPQ scales<\/a><\/strong>. How am I meant to get my work done with someone yapping in my ear?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cat people once again prove their dominance with higher scores on the Adaptable scale. Dog people rarely adapt their style to others. Much like their belief that everyone must love dogs, they assume everyone will like them exactly as they are. Cat people understand that everyone is different, with their own likes and dislikes. One size doesn\u2019t fit all \u2013 you have to flex to meet different people\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, you might think that dog people scoring higher on the Poised scale is a sign that they\u2019re better. But you\u2019d be wrong. Excessive confidence can easily tip into over-assumption. While it might initially appear charming, it can quickly become disingenuous and obnoxious. And honestly, talking in front of crowds isn\u2019t all that impressive anyway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lower scores on the Optimistic scale are advantageous and I\u2019ll tell you why. Anticipating potential pitfalls isn\u2019t negativity, it\u2019s intelligence. Cat people don\u2019t expect the worst, but we understand that things don\u2019t always go to plan. Simply \u201clooking on the bright side\u201d doesn\u2019t guarantee success; preparing for multiple outcomes does. Cat people don\u2019t want bad things to happen, we\u2019re just realistic enough to know that sometimes they will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cat people are also more Values-focused, which is a value in itself. Dog people tend to chase the latest shiny reward, much like a tennis ball hurled across a park after they\u2019ve destroyed the last one. Workplace friendships can be distracting, and by maintaining clear boundaries, we can focus and do our jobs well. We still get along with colleagues; we just don\u2019t always need to be best friends. Dog people struggle with this concept.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lower levels of Self-efficacy among cat people are yet another marker of excellence. Dog people may be more confident in their abilities, but how do you improve if you already think you\u2019re perfect? Cat people understand there\u2019s always room for growth. We stay self-aware, reflective, and never get too far ahead of ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, cat people score lower on the Approachable scale. This is a psychological research outcome that absolutely confirms what we already knew: Dog people are better than cat people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s true that in personality there is no good or bad. Whenever we conduct <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clevry.com\/en\/platform\/assessments\/psychometric-assessments\/\">psychometric assessments<\/a> exploring personality, we maintain our focus on this central tenet: personality is style not ability. While this remains true, we also understand that when it comes to pet preference, the dog people are right and the cat people are wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These results prove, with no shadow of doubt, that dog people are warm, people centred, value close relationships, are socially confident, optimistic, and generally feel good about themselves.
